simple gift card holder

gift card holder_main

Gift cards are my jam.

I like giving them to people and I like getting them as gifts. Some people find them to be “not personal” enough… but I think it’s fun to have money to spend at one of your favorite places, right!?

Either way, I thought I’d share a super simple way to personalize a gift card.

Supplies

  • blank note card
  • gift card
  • pencil
  • pens, markers, etc. for decorating your card
  • x-acto knife
  • straight edge (optional) + something to cut on (not pictured)

Step 1: placing & tracing

Open up your note card. Place your gift card where you’d like it to be attached to your card. Trace the top left and the bottom right corners of your gift card and put the gift card to the side.

Step 2: cutting your slots

Using your straight edge, draw 2 diagonal lines across both corners that you marked. With your straight edge and x-acto knife, cut along the 2 diagonal lines you just made to create slots for your gift card to sit in. Make sure you protect whatever surface you are cutting on.

Step 3: Decorate your card!

Decorate the front of the card and add any notes on the inside. Place your gift card carefully into the slots you created. You’re all done!
